A Union of Vedic Knowledge and Cutting-Edge Technology

Vastu is an ancient Vedic system of architecture and design that integrates principles of nature, energy, and spatial harmony to create a balanced and harmonious living environment. Originating from the Vedic tradition, Vastu combines science & art of architecture, astronomy, and astrology and aims to optimize the flow of energy (prana) within a space.

Key points of Vastu

Five Elements (Panchabhuta)

Vastu considers five natural elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space—and seeks to balance them in a structure.

Directions

It emphasizes the importance of the cardinal directions (North, East, South, West) and their sub-directions, associating them with specific energies and elements.

Center (Brahmasthan)

The center of a property is considered the most sacred and should be free from obstructions to allow the unhindered flow of energy.

Grid System (Vastu Purusha Mandala)

A mathematical layout that divides the space into a grid for proper planning and orientation.

Alignment

Structures are ideally aligned with the cardinal directions to maximize positive energy and minimize negative influences.

Applications of Vastu

Designing homes, offices, temples, and other buildings.

Placement of rooms, doors, windows, and furniture.

Aligning activities like cooking, sleeping, and studying with the flow of natural energy.

Benefits of Vastu

It is now an evidence based conclusion that Vastu, when executed perfectly enhances well-being, prosperity, happiness, and overall harmony in life when a space is designed following its principles.

Principles of Sthapatya Veda

Vastu is the design and construction of a building in harmony with natural law—producing health and happiness—through: Right Orientation, Right Placement & Right Proportion.

Right Orientation

Homes oriented to the east, the direction of the rising sun, promote health, happiness, and success. And, working and sleeping in the recommended directions are associated with better physical and mental health.

Right Placement

The strongest influence of natural law comes from the Sun, and as it travels from east to west it generates different qualities of energy. A home should be designed so that these different energies correspond to the specific activity intended for each room. Then natural law will always support all aspects of our daily activity.

Right Proportion

Homes are designed with symmetries and proportions calculated to resonate with all holistic structures of nature and natural law, nourishing our physiology and establishing a harmonious relationship to our earth as well as Sun, Moon, planets and stars.

Sthapatya Veda: The environmentally friendly science of architecture

In Maharishi’s words, Sthapatya Veda is the Science of Establishing. It is the most ancient and complete system of architecture and city planning in accord with Natural Law, which takes into account the influences of the planets and of the North and South Poles and the equator.

The first act is to establish the knower, which is something that takes place in your own consciousness. Establishing a house to protect the knower comes after that. Vedic Science is the Science of Consciousness, and Sthapatya Veda is one of the 40 aspects of Maharishi’s Vedic Science that have been revived by Maharishi. It is a great blessing that we have this knowledge from Maharishi.
